The Challenge

Envisioning a multifunctional space that could cater to Sydney Environmental Groups (SEG) diverse needs, including daily operations, collaborative projects, and communal gatherings. Our challenge was to thoughtfully navigate the design process, space planning, construction, and layout in a way that complements the unique characteristics of their warehouse building.

Design

Our objective was to honour the warehouse’s original charm while introducing contemporary elements that align with SEG’s mission. This entailed designing versatile areas that could easily transition between different functions, from productive workspaces to engaging venues for company events, all within the framework of the building’s layout.

Space Planning

For Sydney Environmental Group’s warehouse styled office, our approach to space planning centred on leveraging the unique architectural features of the space; namely, the abundant natural light, high ceilings, exposed beams, and visible sections of the tin roof. 

Our goal was to enhance layout efficiency while fostering a seamless flow and connection throughout the office, all the while keeping the specific purpose of each area in mind, within the framework of the building’s layout.

Construction

The Office Fitout Group team is dedicated to excellence and attention to detail. During the construction phase, we meticulously executed every aspect, from installing ergonomic furniture to precisely aligning desks and modular pieces. Our focus on quality ensured that every detail contributes to an improved user experience.  

Design Highlights

Versatile Workspaces: Our design includes spacious staff desks, versatile break-out areas with modular furniture, and well-lit meeting rooms and offices, all crafted to enhance productivity and comfort. 

Elegant Meeting Room: We’ve created a beautifully-designed meeting room, themed with our signature colours, providing an ideal setting for discussions, presentations, and creative brainstorming. 

Functional Furniture: Our office features modular furniture tailored for flexibility, including a long green couch and stools, a bar-height table perfect for lunch breaks, and functional desk areas designed to accommodate multiple monitors and day-to-day activities. 

Industrial Aesthetic: The office design embraces its warehouse setting with exposed beams creating a raw, industrial vibe that energises the space. Elements like polished concrete floors and metal finishes enhance the urban-chic look while staying true to the warehouse’s original character. 

Open Plan Layout: To maximise the spacious warehouse environment, the office features an open plan layout. This design encourages collaboration and communication among team members, while still allowing for distinct zones dedicated to different tasks or teams. 

Natural Light Maximisation: Taking advantage of a warehouse, the office is designed to capture an abundance of natural light. This not only reduces reliance on artificial lighting but also creates a more welcoming and productive work environment.

Nicole is passionate about managing the business efficiently and effectively so that clients are delivered optimum results for their office fit outs.
