Podia

Podia wanted a fitout that matches their brand while breaking down the barriers to their office flow and productivity. With a brand focused on building an environment that shapes the way people work, live, and socialise, we felt it imperative to design an office that connects with their core values.

The Challenge

Power of place and building a positive environment that has an impact on people are values both we and Podia find of the utmost importance. We know that the more practical and space-efficient office layout that is catered to the individual needs of departments, the more enjoyable the environment and the more positive an impact it has on employees. The challenge for this office design was matching the brand’s message with their office space to ensure the environment flow is consistent and catering to both the team’s online and offline activities. We set design objectives together with Podia that aligned with their vision, needs and branding.

Designing Offices For 20+ Years

1

Design

Through a bespoke layout design, we leveraged a combination of natural light, a fresh light earthy colour palette and texture choices to create a calm, inviting and welcoming space for all. We took the time to understand the company and its values to create a working environment that is both healthy and effective. The stunningly-visual bright and yet homely space was achieved by enhancing the design elements with clever mood lighting placement that highlighted the bespoke fixtures and fittings, natural wood tones and soft furnishing transforming the area into a warm practical space.

2

Space Planning

We prioritised the complete utilisation of floor space available to give the office a 180-degree shift in terms of functionality. We introduced a bright and open layout design complete with custom-built co-facing workspaces, employee breakout areas and a large fully integrated kitchen designed to increase communication, networking, face-to-face interaction, and employee collaboration. Our space planning and design process ensure we maximised the area by increasing layout efficiency and improving flow and interconnection whilst keeping each section’s purpose in mind.

Construction

In five weeks, we executed the unique fitout from start to finish. In line with their brand and operations, we constructed a more functional professional but beautifully designed workspace that paralleled their vision and collaborative culture. We took advantage of the office’s beautiful natural lighting and stunning view by installing glass partitions and large glass windows to create a feeling of openness and space which is a cost-effective ideal solution to the office’s space restrictions. Overall the space was transformed from claustrophobic to a serene and fun environment for employees and clients to enjoy.

Design Highlights

Every single detail, from the lighting design, electrical plan, fixtures and fittings was built with flexibility and team collaboration and comfort in mind. The greenery, mood lighting and soft furnishing and natural wood tones bring a residential feel to a commercial property.

Whilst planning the space we had to ensure to not enclose the areas. The beautiful entrance foyer and sleek eye-catching custom black-framed windows are designed for visitors to take in the stunning views overlooking the Anzac Bridge which doubles to impress clients and create a sense of warmth and welcome.

The elegant yet professional meeting rooms with glass partition walls are a great way to create spaces requiring privacy, noise reduction, and assisting with the area’s flow whilst still allowing natural light throughout. The meeting fitouts hanging lights and clever lighting is designed for easy document reviewing for day-to-day meetings.
